Hello, we are the Baker family from Canada. Yes, we like maple syrup and hockey, but more than these things we love God and it is our greatest joy to walk in obedience to His will in our lives; that is why we are on the PDF team.
Born and raised on Vancouver Island, I (Jerry) trained to be a journeyman carpenter and worked for 12 years in this field. I also attended Tauernhof, Austria where I was a student for UpwardBound. I later became an an instructor for many of the programs at Tauernhof. I’m also a certified level 2 snowboard instructor. While living in Canada I was involved with several inner city youth ministries programs and enjoyed seeing Jesus pour out through me into the lives of these youth.
My main role at PDF is to facilitate the bible schooI. I will also be helping with the summer programs as well as instructing snowboarding/ skiing in the winter.
I enjoy playing guitar, writing and recording songs, hiking, slack lining, snowboarding and playing with my two little monkeys (my kids).
My wife Chrissie is a teacher but for the moment she feels called to spend her time raising our two wonderful girls, Miriam and Eden. She also has a successful food blog that she works on when the kids aren’t keeping her too busy!
