If someone would have told us 10 years ago how much work PdF would have had now, we would not have believed them! We started with only 3 ski camps, where we barely had enough participants, to now having 12 full ski/ snowboard camps with up to 50 participants. The same thing is happening with our Summer camps where 120 spaces are being filled for our children’s camps after the registration was open for only one hour, even causing the website to crash. We also have Spring and Fall Bible school semesters, even though the number of students is small, and almost every weekend we have groups at the center.
We are very thankful that God can work through us, leading people to Jesus. We are receiving many questions from all sides about whether we will have even more camps and programs especially for kids and teenagers.
Some time ago a neighbour asked us if we wanted to purchase his portion of land that he owned. Until now, all our energy has been put into finishing off the current center projects and we didn’t have the impression that purchasing land would be on our agenda. But now it makes sense to continue to develop the work here at PdF by the purchasing of 2 adjacent plots of land.

Needed for the camps
PdF currently sits of over 4 Ha of land. It is there one can find all of our buildings. For the last 15 years, PdF has been using a private property for the, for the tents, the high ropes course, and the swimming pond. Without this private property this work would not have been possible. PdF wants to purchase this land, but so far the subdivision plan which was necessary for the purchase was missing. The additional lots (in purple) would give us room for expansion, allowing us to build, for example, another meeting hall, additional staff housing, and summer camps cabins.
Neighbours will no longer travel through our property
Until now the street that goes to adjacent properties has gone right through our property, between the main building, Foisor, and guesthouse. It is not only the neighbour who travels on this road, but also the guests of the local guest houses. With this new property it will be possible to build a road going around our property, so that the residence of these properties no longer have to travel through our property.
Clarification of property boundaries
Due to a lack of a subdivision plan from the town of Rasnov throughout the valley, the actual border of the private land we use is unclear on two sides (In the forest and to the neighbor from whom we want to buy). Up until now it has not been possible for PdF to purchase this area. Because we have been waiting already 15 years for this plan to be made, it is very unlikely that the city will make the subdivision plan. A freelance surveyor made a subdivision plan on our behalf. The chances of this plan being accepted are high, and therefore the barrier will be removed because the borders are clear, so we expect that the purchase will be possible.
Natural property boundaries
Through this extension, our property will go into the forest until it reaches the state forest, as a result we will no longer have any neighbours. Along the river, we will own the entire lower, and main plateau area. This way the property will have a natural end point. We will have the possibility to extend this plateau as well, especially for the children and teenager camps and there is no longer the risk that our neighbour will build something unsuitable right next to it.
The PdF center can be fenced in
In Romania there are now more bears than needed for the local forest areas. The bears are getting closer and closer to inhabited areas. Last fall there was a bear on our property that ate our apple trees and destroyed them in the process. Then we always have horses, cows and dogs from our neighbors on the premises. Many guests don’t dare to go from one building to another or from the tent to the toilet at night because of the dogs. We need to fence the property, and that requires clear property boundaries.
In order to continue with future work, it is therefore sensible and necessary to tackle the purchase of the property. Although the prices are not as cheap as they were at the beginning, we have a relatively good offer and a further increase in the property prices is foreseeable.

1. Subdivision Plan
This plan is in progress. It should be submitted for approval in the next few days. If everything is approved as it is, it will take about 2 months. Without this plan we cannot buy the property.
2. Property Purchase
We have agreed on a purchase price with the two owners of the new plots. Basically, we would like:
11,500 mp for a price of 180,000 euros (purple area on map)
We will make a contract to pay in two deposits, one Deposit of about 100,000 euros must be done this year, the rest to be paid in the following year.
The private property used by PdF is also to be bought by PdF in the next few years. This property has an Area of 23,000 mp for a price of 100,000 euros.
However, there is no deadline for this.
3. Development Plan
A development plan must then be drawn up. This can only be started once we have paid for the plots in full. The procedure takes about 2 years. So we have some time to develop a concept for the new site.
